Arsene Lupin Georges Raudi Disques Vogue V. 45-1780, 1970
Arsene Lupin album cover

Here's a great groovy 1960s-flavored French funk instrumental. You'd take a look at the cover and probably skip it, except for noting JP Bourtayre on the credits... so you'd pick it up, then discover, incredibly, that the flip side (performed and written by Georges Raudi) is the better number, a wicked midtempo jazzy funk groove with excellent drums, piano and organ. Another killer tune from the vaults of Le Fonquateers Francaise! Thanks to Teddy Rosso for a hot tip on this one - props to The Chase!
