Wojna Swiatow Josef Skrzek Muza SX 2342, 1981
Wojna Swiatow album cover

aka. The War Of The Worlds - Next Century, this obscure Polish soundtrack is obviously a rip-off or follow-up to Jeff Wayne's version. Most of the music is heavily rock-based except for some great jazz-funk bass playing! One of the numbers begins with a tight rock guitar riff and then moves into a bizarre uptempo P-funk/rock crossover number - interesting! The other number worth a listen is the groovy disco-feel 'The Gig' that moves into blues-rock territory towards the end of the track, complete with heavily-accented vocal in English! Weird!

Overall Rating: 3
