Deep Throat II T.J. Stone Bryan BRS-101, 1974
Deep Throat II album cover

The original Deep Throat LP was only given to a small number of moviegoers who saw the initial release of the movie, although has been bootlegged since. This follow-up movie saw its soundtrack issued by the tiny New York label Bryan Records, also responsible for rarities such as Lord Shango and Bernard Purdie's Lialeh. The Deep Throat II soundtrack features music written by Tony Bruno (see Hell's Angels '69) and he sure knew how to groove! All of the best porn film funk stereotypes are present, plus a few surprises. There's a great Shirley Bassey-esque theme, a monster funk instrumental or two, and some mellower numbers for measure. There's an equally obscure but really funky single, She's Got To Have It, taken from the LP. A great example of porno funk at its best.

Overall Rating: 4
