Les Ringards Francis Lai Warner Brothers 56555, 1978
Les Ringards album cover

A late 70s one by Lai, by which point he'd lost the funky and French poppy edge that defined his earlier work. There are a few pieces to note on this LP - a wicked downtempo open break on 'L'arrivee du commissaire', a groovy French samba, and a pretty tight funky disco number in 'Garden Party'. The rest of the LP is composed of reprises of the cheesy French theme, typical comedy stuff.

Overall Rating: 3
