Comme Un Boomerang Georges Delerue EMI Pathe C 066 14350, 1976
Comme Un Boomerang album cover

Here's an odd album, by French composer Delerue. The reason that it's odd is that the best funk cut - a great sax-and-wah jazz-funk track - appears to have been mastered at the wrong speed! It's way too fast, and the instruments are wrongly pitched. Strange. The music is performed by a small group, and there's a good sample track for anyone needing 2 minutes of just a funk beat with percussion. What could have been an excellent album ends up sounding average because of a pressing idiosyncracy.

Overall Rating: 3
