One of Morricone's best-known groovy scores, this album features the cult bossa title theme with wordless female vocal and nicely understated wah guitar. It's a very sentimental, breezy album, with typically sparse arrangements. Some cheesier dinner jazz moments don't detract from what's actually a pretty good album. Look out for the 60s shaker 'Alla luce del giorno', and there's a sampler-friendly sitar number (no drums) 'Ric happening' too.
