Moi Y'en A Vouloir Des Sous Michel Magne Barclay 80 487, 1973
Moi Y'en A Vouloir Des Sous album cover

One of two funky cartoon cover LPs from films by French comedian Jean Yanne, this album features music composed and arranged by Michel Magne, so it should be good! It's a selection of songs from the film, so there are parodies of other artists, mixed with original numbers. The album is performed in classic French bold poppy style, with a very groovy funk edge. The outstanding funk tracks are 'Superchic genial' (a killer tight funky tribute to James Brown) and the recently-compiled 'Petrole Pop'. We like it.

Overall Rating: 4
