Men, The Isaac Hayes Enterprise ENA-9058, 1974
Men, The album cover

Here's an obscure Isaac Hayes 45 that wasn't subsequently issued on LP. One side, the main title theme, is taken from the ABC TV cop show 'The Men', while the other side is - oddly - a tune taken from the 'Shaft's Big Score' soundtrack that doesn't appear on the original Big Score soundtrack LP for contractual reasons, we presume. The music is typically lush early 70s Hayes - powerful, groovy orchestral funk with a disco edge and a hefty dose of soul. Not hard to find and a good party mover.

Overall Rating: 4

Track listing:

Theme From The Men (instr) | Type Thang (from Shaft's Big Score) |
