Salut J'arrive Christian Pegand RCA France PL 37626, 1979
Salut J'arrive album cover

Here's a cracking, unknown French soundtrack with plenty of chunky beats and breaks. The album has a great, tight, well-recorded studio feel and obviously uses some great session players. The music is loud and well-recorded. Best of the lot is thw wicked late 70s funk break track 'Ballet audition' with tight open drums and guitar riff, and the lovely funk synth riff 'Theme Drague'. One to look out for - the rest of the album is a good mix of comedy numbers and groovy jazz.

Overall Rating: 4
