Take A Girl Like You

The Pye label is one of those great UK record labels where you just don't know what you're going to hear when you put the album on the turntable. This record is a good example - an obscure movie taken from a Kingsley Amis novel, directed by Jonathan Miller and featuring many great British actors. Not, at first, a promising prospect. But stick on the long Hammond funk instrumental 'Organ Fantasia in D Major' and you'll soon hear why Stanley Myers is one of our favourite composers... some other good moments feature Ram John Holder. Hard to find, obscure, UK-only and great.
