Sesso Matto Armando Trovaioli Disques Vogue SLDD 863, 1972
Sesso Matto album cover

Originally issued on Duse in Italy, this is the French issue of the legendary Sesso Matto soundtrack, which later went on to become a disco classic thanks to an extended remix issued on the equally-legendary West End disco label. So what's the hype about? Well, there are two outstanding tracks on this album that appear in various guises across the two sides. First up is the amazing funk theme, with its superb insistent female vocal whispering the film title in your ear. Top dancefloor material and sampleable as hell - and then there's the crazy 'Kinky Peanuts', which is weird, funny and funky, with a mad mix of analogue synth and cheesy beats. Highly recommended despite being damn hard to turn up - and expensive.

Overall Rating: 4
